Game-based learning has emerged as an innovative approach to enhance students’ motivation and engagement in English language learning. By incorporating interactive, playful elements such as challenges, points, levels, and immediate feedback into educational activities, game-based learning transforms traditional lessons into dynamic and stimulating experiences. This study investigates the influence of game-based learning on students’ motivation in English, focusing on both intrinsic and extrinsic factors that drive engagement and learning persistence. Drawing on recent empirical research and classroom interventions, the study demonstrates that students exposed to game-based activities exhibit higher levels of participation, enthusiasm, and confidence in using English. Additionally, these activities contribute to improved language outcomes, including vocabulary acquisition, speaking skills, and overall communicative competence. Despite its benefits, challenges such as unequal access to digital resources and potential overreliance on external rewards are noted, highlighting the importance of careful design and implementation. The findings underscore that game-based learning is a valuable pedagogical strategy capable of fostering motivation, enhancing learning experiences, and supporting effective English language acquisition
