Abstract

This study investigates the role of Virtual Reality (VR) and Augmented Reality (AR) technologies in enhancing communicative and intercultural skills in language education. The research focuses on developing linguistic competence, practical speaking skills, and cultural awareness in learners. VR and AR provide immersive, interactive environments that simulate real-life communication. These tools foster motivation, confidence, and engagement, allowing students to apply theoretical knowledge in practical contexts. The research employs both qualitative and experimental methodologies, including VR simulations, AR-assisted lessons, observation, testing, and feedback analysis. Results indicate that VR and AR technologies significantly improve students’ speaking fluency, pronunciation, intercultural awareness, and overall communicative competence. The study also addresses challenges such as technical infrastructure, teacher training, and accessibility, emphasizing the need for systematic integration of innovative technologies. The findings confirm that VR and AR are essential for modern language education and preparing students for global communication
