The Task-Based Approach (TBA) has become a widely recognized method in communicative language teaching due to its emphasis on meaningful interaction and real-life language use. This article explores the role of the Task-Based Approach in developing learners’ communicative competence by engaging them in purposeful tasks rather than isolated grammar practice. It outlines the key principles of TBA, describes the main stages of a task-based lesson, and discusses its benefits for improving fluency, motivation, and learner autonomy. Additionally, the article addresses potential challenges in implementing the approach, including classroom management and learners’ expectations of explicit instruction. The findings suggest that, when carefully planned and effectively guided, the Task-Based Approach creates an authentic and engaging learning environment that supports successful communication in language classrooms
