Abstract

The article investigates how genderlect functions as a sociolinguistic element in intercultural communication through theoretical research conducted in English and Karakalpak linguistic traditions. The results show that developing intercultural competence needs direct focus on genderlect differences which occur in situations where English and Karakalpak languages function as contact languages
