Abstract

This article examines the semantic characteristics of the simple sentence as one of the fundamental units of linguistic communication. The simple sentence plays a crucial role in expressing thoughts, events, actions, states, and relationships within a language. The study explores the concept of sentence semantics, the relationship between syntactic structure and meaning, and the various semantic components that contribute to the interpretation of simple sentences. Particular attention is paid to propositional meaning, semantic roles, predication, modality, and contextual influences. The article also discusses how semantic characteristics determine the communicative effectiveness of simple sentences and contribute to linguistic analysis. The findings demonstrate that the semantic structure of a simple sentence is essential for understanding both grammatical organization and communicative function
