HOSPITALITY CULTURE REFLECTED IN UZBEK TRADITIONS: THE CASE OF SAMARKAND

Abstract

This study examines hospitality culture as reflected in Uzbek traditions, focusing on the case of Samarkand. Using qualitative analysis of academic literature, ethnographic studies, and reports from international organizations, the research explores historical, religious, and social factors shaping hospitality practices. The findings reveal that hospitality remains a central cultural value in Samarkand, deeply embedded in everyday life and community relations. Despite modernization and tourism development, traditional hospitality practices continue to reflect Uzbek cultural identity and ethical values
