Abstract

Modern linguistics has undergone remarkable transformations over the past century, branching into specialized sub-disciplines that together illuminate the structural, semantic, and socio-cultural dimensions of language. This article traces the evolution of key areas linguistic typology, lexical analysis, phraseology, syntax, and applied linguistics drawing on a wide body of contemporary scholarship. By synthesizing contributions from researchers across Central Asia and beyond, the article charts the theoretical and methodological developments that define the field today
