Abstract

Humor and sarcasm are increasingly prominent features of modern political discourse, particularly in responses to controversial or unconventional rhetoric. This article explores how politicians have employed humor and sarcasm when reacting to speeches by Donald Trump. By incorporating direct speech examples from political debates, interviews, and public statements, the study demonstrates how rhetorical strategies such as irony, satire, and mockery function as persuasive tools. The analysis shows that humor and sarcasm are not merely stylistic devices but serve to critique, influence public perception, and simplify complex political issues.
