Abstract

Emotional and social development in preschool children is a crucial aspect of early childhood education, as it lays the foundation for personality formation, interpersonal relationships, and future academic success. This article examines the key characteristics of emotional and social development in children aged 3–6 years. It highlights the stages of emotional expression, self-awareness, empathy, and social interaction skills that emerge during this period. The study also explores the role of family environment, educators, and peer relationships in shaping children’s emotional intelligence and social competence. Special attention is given to the importance of supportive educational environments and interactive activities in fostering positive developmental outcomes. The findings suggest that early intervention and structured pedagogical approaches significantly enhance children's ability to manage emotions and engage effectively in social contexts
