Abstract

Obesity and metabolic syndrome are increasingly prevalent among children, posing significant health risks that can extend into adulthood. This article explores the multifaceted risks associated with the development of obesity and metabolic syndrome in pediatric populations, particularly in the context of modern lifestyle changes, dietary habits, and sedentary behaviors. It examines the role of genetic predisposition, environmental factors, and socio-economic status in contributing to these conditions. The article also highlights the importance of early intervention and preventive strategies, including promoting physical activity, healthy eating habits, and regular health screenings. By addressing these risks, healthcare providers can better manage and reduce the incidence of obesity and metabolic syndrome in children, ultimately improving their long-term health outcomes
